Black, red and gold Christmas card

This card is for sketch 55 on Just Birthdays and Christmas:

It's also for:

February's Christmas cards all year round challenge - a Christmas card with at least three hearts on it - the idea is to make five cards, so this is just the first.
Fab's big Christmas 3: 'tree sentiment card - sentiment and gold matting (yes, I'm playing catcj-up at Fab's)
Pixie dust studio 8: 'colour recipe - red and/or pink & black'
Another for Little red wagon 15: 'red with bling!'
ABC Christmas: 'D for decorations (on the tree) - include ribbon'
Bah! humbug 3: 'all that glitters ...'

Very difficult to get a decent photo - the red strip across the bottom is very reflective - looks lovely irl.

For a special sister

I've come back to this post to explain that John's sister died yesterday morning (17 February).

The rest of this post is as it was originally written before this happened:

It's John's sister's birthday on Saturday 20 February and I wanted to make her a special card that would send her a big hug because she's been in hospital for a month and it looks as if she'll still be there for her birthday.

I thought an easel card might be a good idea as it could perhaps stand up easier than an ordinary card.

I used the sketch for Monday lunchtime 108 on Techno stamper:

I used a mixture of Forever friends, 7 gypsies and PM honey hugs papers as well as FF 3D element stickers etc., which is just right for Forever Friends 'inside out' challenge.

It's also for:

Pile it on 6: 'let us see flowers' - part of the challenge is to see how many other challenges you can combine with
Susie's sassy 8: 'hearts & flowers'
Daring cardmakers: 'have a heart'
Polka doodles week 6: 'hearts & flowers'
Lots to do week 6: 'love is in the air'
Flourishes Timeless 53: 'easel card'
Secret crafter Saturday 70: 'multifold
Totally Gorjuss 17: 'feel the lurve'
ABC: 'N for new' - the FF 3D elements are new
Crazy 4 challenges 24: 'red'
Forever friends: 'hearts'
Etsy inspired 75: 'spin designs' - I chose this for inspiration:

And I'm pleased that for once I've got a family birthday card done well ahead of time.
